Storyline:A former member of the white lotus society, Kai learns his skills from the great masters troughout Asia. He journeyed to the far east after meeting his friend and ally Liu Kang in america. Now they reunite to assist raiden in his battle against Shinnok in the fourth (new) Mortal Kombat tournament. After defeating the outworld forces with the chosen warriors Kai deserves becoming a Shaolin warrior. But he refuses this to Raiden, beceause he has to sort out some things for himself after what he's been true during the outworld attack. Raiden then offeres him his staff of thunder and lightning and tells Kai the staff could lead him to immortality. Kai is very honored by this offer and promises not to fail Raiden as their paths go different ways.
