Storyline:The name Rayden is actually that of a deity known as the thundergod. He also goes by the protector of the realm of earth. He helps the earth warriors understand the tournament and tries to help them win it. With his wisedom the earth warriors are able to defeat shang tsung and safe the earth from falling in the hands of the evil emperor Shao Kahn.
